"Best upgrade ever!" - just one of the reviews on Amazon when it comes to upgrading your computers spinning hard drive to a Solid State Drive (SSD). And seriously, it's the best computer upgrade investment you can make. Last year I wrote an article on upgrading your computer's drive to a SSD and if you haven't upgraded, now is the time to make the plunge.
The easiest way to update is to purchase a SSD the same size of your boot drive (C:) and follow the recommended manufacturers upgrade process. Typically you power down your computer, connect the SSD to power and a spare SATA port, boot your computer, and run the manufacturers upgrade software. Once your OS/C: drive is copied to the SSD, power down the computer, remove your old C: drive, maybe move the SSD SATA cable to where the C: drive was and then power on your computer.
Instead of taking 2 to 3 minutes to boot, you should be up and ready to log in within 10 to 20 seconds!!
When my company upgrades clients systems, we have a disk copier that makes the process a bit easier. Just plug in the existing Hard Drive, the SSD drive, and push a button. Wait an hour (depending on drive size), then just install the SSD in the computer and boot. The existing HD is now an archived backup copy and returned to the client.
Check out the previous article, visit Amazon for pricing and device options, and connect with Inline Technology to schedule your upgrade.
